Parish Council business was immediately suspended on the sad news of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s death, which broke just after 6.30pm on Thursday 8th September. The Parish Council meeting that was due to take place at 7.30pm on that evening was cancelled, and we apologise for the absence of prior notice.
In addition to the Parish Council meeting on 8th September, the Planning & Highways Committee planned for 22nd September has also been cancelled. Although the meeting is scheduled to take place after the state funeral, it is a legal requirement to publish the agenda three full working days in advance, not including Sundays, Bank Holidays, the day of the meeting, and the day that the agenda is published. This would mean that the agenda would need to be published on Friday 16th September at the very latest, but the Parish Council is advised that any days during the period of mourning should not be included in the notice period, hence the meeting cannot take place.
Therefore the Footpaths, Properties & Greens Committee Meeting scheduled for 13th October will now become a full Parish Council Meeting, and will include any business postponed from The Planning & Highways Committee and the Footpaths, Properties & Greens Committee.
A revised Programme of Meetings is given below.MEETINGS 2022 Draft 5
